Military Science Instructor (MSI) - Army ROTC

Preferred locations:  Nationwide

We are seeking multiple MSI located at many of the 400 universities CONUS and OCONUS that has an Army ROTC Program.  These will be on-site positions.  Through the application process, you will be asked to identify both specific universities and geographic areas you are interested in.  These positions are contingent on contract award.

Clearance: Ability to pass Tier 3 (T3) investigation for CAC issuance; subject to POSTA screening

Description: CRG is seeking an Military Science Instructor (MSI) in support of the U.S. Army Senior Reserve Officer Training Cadet (SROTC) program located at multiple universities across the country.  The MSI will teach effectively in an indoor classroom and field training setting, presenting both standardized instruction and creative workshops. Contractor personnel serving as ROTC military science instructors shall have demonstrated instructor ability in military field training exercises and be able to live/instruct in a field environment for extended periods during training exercises. 

Job Duties

• Instructional:
  
  
  
  • Provide military science instruction and training and field instruction and training in accordance with Cadet Command’s program of Instruction (POI), syllabus, and other ROTC-directed or emerging training in various settings on and off campus, to include field environments.
  
  
  • Use provided mixed media (visual aids) and innovation to teach the learning and lesson objectives. 
  
  
  • Provide expert training at Warrior Tasks and Battle Drills, small unit tactics, and physical fitness.  
  
  
  • Coach, teach and prepare competitive Cadet teams to include ranger challenge, drill team, and color guard.
  
  
  • Instruct Cadets on the leader-led/officer-to-NCO relationship in both garrison and combat environments
  
  
  • Instruct and prepare Cadets on receiving and executing written and verbal plans and concepts and crisis/contingency management.
  
  
  • Provide Faculty development instruction (such as the C3PO course)
  
  
  
  


• Field Exercise Support (Cadet Summer Training (CST)):
  
  
  
  • Be available to "deploy" to Fort Knox KY between May and Aug.
  
  
  • Serve as a SME and/or Cadet leader in areas such as: Field Operations, Regimental Operations, Rappelling and Rappelling Safety, Climbing, Land navigation, Tactical Operations Center Operations, Airport operations, General test Proctor, Tactics, & Weaponry.
  
  
  • Assist in reception and departure operations at the aerial port of embarkation and debarkation during Cadet Summer Training. 
  
  
  • Assist in receiving and staging, marshaling, and accounting for Cadets and cadre and their baggage; 
  
  
  • Assist in Ground transportation Logistics
  
  
  • Ensure 100% accountability of all assigned Cadet/cadre
    
  
  
  
  


• Marketing and Recruiting:
  
  
  
  • Assist Government personnel in marketing/recruiting efforts at recruiting and marketing events
  
  
  • Gather information as it pertains to prospects, and help with the development of information that can be placed in hand-outs that will help market Army ROTC
  
  
  • Participate in and supports such events as student orientation, college fairs, parades, and similar events
  
  
  • Provide information to Potentials and Prospects and centers of influence about Army ROTC 
  
  
  • Showcase the Army ROTC program by escorting community leaders, educators, parents, and other centers of influence through campus tours.
  
  
  • Assist Government personnel with inventory and distribution of supplies
  
  
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; but must meet the academic institution’s qualifications and requirements for instructor positions at that institution.


• Minimum 6 years’ prior Active or Reserve Component military experience
  
  
  
  • Experience shall be current (within the last five years at time of initial assignment as a contractor instructor) and have been terminated with an honorable discharge or retirement
    
  
  
  
  


• Prior experience supporting U.S. Army, ROTC, military training, education, or related government services preferred.


• Must have been a Non-Commissioned Officer within the U.S Army, Active Component, or former or current officer in the U.S Army Reserve, or Army National Guard.


• Ability to pass the CFD-IC course within 60 days of hire date.


• Possess a thorough knowledge of the Army organizational structure, mission objectives, function, procedures, agency regulations and policy pertaining to the Department of the Army


• Have knowledge and experience of military training and field training evaluations


• Teach effectively in a classroom and field training setting, presenting both standardized instruction and creative workshops

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with ROTC organizational structure, Army Cadet Command policies, or college-level military education programs.


• Possess knowledge of:
  
  
  
  • basic Soldier skills, to include map reading, land navigation, marksmanship, drill and ceremonies, weapons experience with U.S Army small arms
  
  
  • safety skills in the use of small arms, ammunition and pyrotechnics
  
  
  • computer skills, to include operation of Microsoft word processing, spreadsheets, and graphics programs, performance of user maintenance, Microsoft Windows environments, and familiarity with e-mail and internet environment and operations
