CNC Programmer / Shop Drawing Reviewer
Commercial Millwork & Seating
We’re looking for an experienced, detail-oriented CNC programmer to review shop drawings and turn approved designs into accurate, production-ready programs. This role requires proven experience catching drawing issues before they reach the shop and programming parts with complex shapes and multiple radii.
What you’ll do
- Review shop drawings for accuracy, dimensions, geometry, and consistency before programming.
- Identify missing details, discrepancies, or potential production issues and communicate them to the appropriate team members.
- Program parts and components using AutoCAD, AlphaCAM, eCabinet Systems, or comparable software.
- Create and verify CNC programs for commercial millwork, cabinetry, and seating components.
- Work through complex layouts and curved or radiused parts, including commercial seating with multiple radii.
- Coordinate with the shop and project team to resolve questions and help ensure parts are ready for production.
- Maintain organized files and follow drawing revisions through the programming process.
Required qualifications
- Demonstrated experience reviewing shop drawings and programming CNC equipment for millwork, cabinetry, furniture, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, AlphaCAM, eCabinet Systems, or similar CAD/CAM software.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to catch small errors before they become production problems.
- Confidence interpreting dimensions, measurements, and complex shapes.
- Clear communication and an organized, methodical approach to problem-solving.
Experience with commercial seating, upholstery frames, curved components, or other radius work is a strong plus.
Experience verification and skills assessment
Applicants must be able to describe and verify their relevant prior experience. Please be prepared to share examples of work you completed, explain your role in the drawing review and programming process, and provide professional references upon request. You may remove or obscure confidential customer or employer information from work samples.
Candidates who move forward will complete a practical skills assessment to demonstrate their ability to review shop drawings, identify errors or missing information, and complete a related CAD/CAM programming task. The assessment will be used to evaluate the skills required for this position.
If you take pride in accurate drawings and reliable programs, we’d like to hear from you. When applying, include a brief summary of your experience, the software you’ve used, and the types of projects you’ve programmed.
