Position Overview

A mining operation located in Gouverneur, NY is seeking a skilled and experienced Millwright to join its maintenance team. This role involves mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting of industrial equipment used in milling and crushing operations. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in welding, pump rebuilds, and equipment diagnostics, along with a strong understanding of mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on cone and jaw crushers, crusher screens, conveyor belts, rollers, and drive units.

• Rebuild and maintain various types of industrial slurry pumps.

• Conduct welding, metal fabrication, and pipe fitting as needed.

• Adhere strictly to MSHA and internal safety procedures to ensure a safe work environment.

• Maintain accurate logs and records of repairs and maintenance work.

• Work collaboratively with the mill operations team to support ongoing production goals.

• Be available for troubleshooting and project-based work outside of standard weekday hours when necessary.

• Perform other reasonable duties as required.

Qualifications

• Required:

  • Familiarity with rod and ball milling operations.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical principles and industrial machinery.

  • Proficiency in the use of hand tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic tools.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Physical strength and stamina to lift, carry, and install heavy equipment.

  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and stay organized.

• Preferred:

  • Industrial or mining industry experience.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
