Job Description - Mission Manager

Who We’re Looking For
Quantum Space is redefining mobility and maneuverability in space. Our high-mobility spacecraft platforms support national security, civil, and commercial missions with unmatched flexibility and propulsion capability. We build fast and iterate quickly.

We are seeking a Mission Manager to lead technical, schedule, and cost for a dedicated space project supporting national security missions. This role is responsible for driving cross-functional delivery across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, integration, and test, ensuring mission readiness from early development through launch and commissioning.

Where You’ll Make an Impact
• Own technical, schedule, and cost performance for a single spacecraft mission or program.
• Lead cross-functional teams to deliver flight hardware and mission capabilities on aggressive timelines.
• Develop and maintain integrated project plans, milestones, and delivery commitments.
• Identify program risks, dependencies, and resource constraints, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Support customer engagements, technical reviews, and internal program reporting.
• Enable execution discipline while operating in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.

What It Takes
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline.
• 8–12 years of project or program management experience on space missions.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams delivering hardware-intensive programs.
• Strong experience managing schedules, budgets, and execution trade-offs.
• Ability to operate effectively in a mission-driven, high-accountability environment.

Nice-to-Have Experience
 • Experience supporting rapid development, prototyping, or non-traditional acquisition environments.
• Familiarity with mission assurance, integration, and test execution.
• Active U.S. security clearance or eligibility to obtain one.

What You’ll Get
• Leadership – Own execution for a high-visibility national security mission.
• Impact – Deliver systems that directly support critical space and defense objectives.
• Growth – Opportunities to scale programs and teams in a fast-growing space company.
• Compensation – Competitive salary, equity, and top-tier benefits, including medical, dental, vision, generous leave, HSA, 401(k) matching, and equity sharing.

Additional Requirements
To comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including ITAR, applicants must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual per 8 U.S. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
