Our employees are not only part of history, they\u0027re making history.\n\nNorthrop Grumman\u2019s Aeronautics Systems sector has an opening for a Program Director 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals leading the Mission Systems IPT on the MQ-4C Triton program. This position will be located in San Diego, CA.\n\nThe Mission Systems IPT Director will provide strategic leadership for the Mission Systems IPT through all phases of the product life cycle to include scope of Advanced Development, Development, Sustainment, and Production.\n\nThis position is responsible for successful cost, schedule, and technical execution across multiple contracts as well as capital and NCTA projects.\n\nThe Mission Systems IPT Director will be responsible for all aspects of the Mission Systems Product within the Triton UAS to include Payload Sensor subsystems, Communications subsystems, Networks subsystems, and Software.\n\nAdditionally, the individual will have the following responsibilities:\n\n * Leadership \u0026 Vision \u2013 Define and communicate the IPT\u2019s technical vision, strategy, and performance objectives; inspire and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers, program managers, and subject matter experts\n\n * Support proposal development activities.\n\n * Develop yearly capital and indirect expense forecasts.\n\n * Manage the maintenance and upgrade of Mission Systems development and integration laboratory environments.\n\n * Maintain performance metrics and report status to Program Management.\n\n * Develop and track closure plans for Issue closure and Risk mitigation.\n\n * Assess Earned Value progress and forecast EAC.\n\n * Responsible for partnering with Functional Home Room on staffing and employee skill development to meet Program needs.\n\n * Train and deploy qualified Field Service Engineers (FSEs) to forward operational sites in support of USN operations of the MQ-4C Triton system.\n\n * Oversee Management of daily compliance with policies and procedures including security, property management, calibration, training, configuration control, and test conduct.\n\n\n\n\nTravel, up to 25% of time, will be required. Finally, we pioneer: setting a vision that shapes the future and inspires others.\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree and 10+ years (or Bachelor of Science in STEM and 9+ years) of related experience; or Master\u2019s degree with 8+ years (or Master of Science in STEM and 7+ years) of related experience\n\n * Related experience includes professional and/or military experience to include a background in program execution, proposal, program management, and/or design\n\n * 3 years in a program or project leadership role\n\n * Must have an active Secret clearance that has been granted or reissued in the last 6 years or is currently enrolled in continuous evaluation and the ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance\n\n * Ability to be granted and maintain special program access as required by business needs.\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Active TS/SCI/SAP Clearance\n\n * Extensive experience with UAV Mission Systems subsystems\n\n * Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work effectively across organizational layers from individual contributor through Executive Leadership\n\n * Communication and presentation skills, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task in a dynamic leadership environment\n\n * Special Program Access (SAP)\n\n * Master\u2019s Degree in Technical Field (STEM) or Business Administration.\n\n * Proven record of developing \u0026 implementing action plans to improve strategic growth using continuous improvement techniques spanning across a large organization.\n\n * Experience with Statement of Work (SOW) development, Basis of Estimate (BOE) creation and negotiations\n\n * Five or more years of experience managing complex cost accounts\n\n * Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships across engineering, supply chain, business management, program management, and executive leadership\n\n * Exceptional communication skills \u2013 able to brief executive leadership, engage customers, and translate technical content to stakeholders\n\n * Ability to delegate effectively while maintaining accountability for overall IPT success\n\n * Strategic thinker with ability to align team objectives with program and functional goals \n\n\n\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $224,300.00 - $336,500.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.\n\nThe application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
