Position Overview

As our Mitigation Estimator, you will own the financial accuracy of every emergency mitigation project from inception to closeout. You are responsible for creating fast, insurance-compliant, and highly accurate estimates that maximize profitability while maintaining complete integrity. You know Xactimate inside and out—not just what to write, but why each line item exists, what is included within it, and how to defend it. If you are meticulous, driven, and ready to be recognized as our resident Xactimate expert, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Estimate Development: Write initial mitigation estimates immediately upon receiving project documentation & update every active estimate daily until project completion.

Scope & Supplements: Ensure estimates accurately reflect field work, promptly adding supplements for unforeseen conditions or additional damages.

Labor & Cost Tracking: Track estimated versus actual labor hours burned on every active project daily, identifying jobs trending over budget and helping project managers improve efficiency.

Carrier Compliance: Navigate insurance carrier guidelines, program requirements, and approval thresholds while maintaining robust documentation.

Xactimate Mastery: Eliminate duplicate or unsupported charges while ensuring zero legitimate billable work goes unbilled.

Continuous Improvement: Study company mitigation macros, review completed files for missed revenue opportunities, and stay current on industry best practices.

Qualifications & Requirements

Proven, advanced expertise in Xactimate estimating software (Restoration/Mitigation focus).

Strong understanding of mitigation pricing, labor, equipment, and consumables.

Exceptional attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.

Ability to work closely with project managers and field teams to gather supporting documentation.

High ethical standards and a commitment to accurate, defensible billing.
