Mobile Mechanic - JTS Truck Repair

Description

JTS Truck Repair is seeking an experienced, motivated mobile mechanic to help keep our customers on the road through timely and thorough maintenance, accurate diagnostics, component replacement, and quality workmanship. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, comfortable in a fast-paced environment, highly organized, assertive, a good communicator, and possesses a good work ethic.

This position will perform light maintenance for light, medium and heavy duty vehicles throughout the greater Los Angeles area.

Summary: Maintain equipment by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements; correct vehicle deficiencies; make adjustments and alignments; keep records, regularly travel to customer locations, perform roadside repairs as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Provide mechanical service in a safe, professional, and timely manner, free of accident, injury, or damage.
• Submit complete, accurate work orders on time for processing.
• Complete inspection sheets accurately.
• Abide by all Federal, State, and Local laws, rules and ordinances for vehicle repair and maintenance.
• Inspect truck, equipment and supplies (such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water).
• Perform other duties, including cleaning service truck and shop, as requested.
• Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.
• Keep equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance inspections; installing component and part upgrades.
• Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; make adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.
• Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
• Comply with Federal, State and Company substance abuse policies, including maintaining a drug and alcohol-free work environment, submitting to appropriate drug and alcohol testing.
• Operate service truck/van in a professional, courteous, and safe manner.
• Provide roadside assistance in a safe, professional, and timely manner, free of accident, injury, or damage.
• Abide by all Federal, State, and Local laws, rules and ordinances and maintain a clean driving record.
• Perform emergency roadside repairs, as assigned.
• Drive defensively, always wear seat belt.

Requirements

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• Possess correct and valid driver’s license for operation of service truck/van, or to legally operate other vehicles for test drives, as appropriate.
• Demonstrate positive customer service attitude.
• Possess good English verbal communication, legible handwriting, and basic math ability.
• Ability to safely lift 75 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to sit, bend, lift, push, pull, see and listen.
• Successfully pass drug and/or alcohol tests in compliance with Company Policy.
• Must submit to and pass background check as per Company policy and Company's contractual requirements.
• Possess mechanical aptitude.
• Possess or be able to attain certifications necessary to perform job duties.
