Mobile Service Technician

This position requires hands-on expertise with terminal tractors or heavy vehicle repairs while traveling to various customer locations. Strong diagnostic ability and professional communication skills are required for success. This position requires a high degree of trust, a self-motivated person who thrives in an environment that looks different each day.

Primary Accountabilities:

1. On-Site Diagnosis & Repair
   
   
   
   1. Perform accurate diagnostics and repairs on heavy-duty trucks at customer locations
   
   
   2. Complete all repairs timely, efficient, and without repeat calls or comebacks
   
   
   3. Determine when a repair can be completed on-site vs. needing shop support
   
   
   
   


2. Safety & Compliance
   
   
   
   1. Operate the service truck, tools, and equipment in compliance with company safety standards, DOT, and OSHA.
   
   
   2. Maintain a safe work environment on customer property, including PPE and traffic control devices
   
   
   3. Conduct daily inspections to ensure the mobile service truck is clean, safe and in operational condition.
   
   
   
   


3. Customer Experience & Communication
   
   
   
   1. Represent the company professionally at all customer sites
   
   
   2. Clearly communicate findings, repair options to both the customer and the Service Team
   
   
   3. Respond to dispatched calls within expected timeframes
   
   
   
   


4. Documentation & Technology Use
   
   
   
   1. Complete work orders, inspection reports, and repair notes accurately and in real time.
   
   
   2. Document all labor hours, parts used, diagnostics performed, and repair recommendations
   
   
   
   

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience as a diesel technician or heavy-duty mechanic preferred


• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and DOT regulations


• Proven ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues independently


• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL Preferred)

Physical Demands:

• Ability to stand, lift, carry, push, pull, balance, stoop, reach, handle, talk, hear, see, grasp, move head and neck and movement across mid-line.


• Ability to lift/carry up to seventy-five (75) pounds.


• Finger dexterity, manual dexterity, alertness, precision, motor coordination, auditory discrimination and tactile discrimination.

Work Environment:

• Work conducted mostly on customer property, outside, in the elements.
  


• Noise level is usually moderate to loud.
