This role supports Mohs surgery and histopathology operations by assisting surgeons with Mohs histotechnology, including slide preparation, equipment maintenance, quality control documentation, and regulatory compliance. The position manages specimen collection, accessioning, and logging to ensure accurate patient identification and specimen integrity, and processes tissue through embedding, sectioning, and staining to produce timely, high-quality diagnostic slides. In addition to hands-on laboratory responsibilities, functions as a project manager and business analyst, identifying opportunities for operational improvement, managing multiple projects, developing proposals and budgets, maintaining schedules and records, and producing accurate analytical reports. The position leverages data analysis and technology to improve workflow efficiency, support decision-making, and ensure reliable, compliant, and high-quality laboratory operations; and other duties as assigned.

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate’s geographical location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/ training and other qualifications.
