Job Description - MOM's Program Manager (Clinician), MOMS Programs

Who We Are: CAMBA is a community of staff, volunteers, clients, donors, neighbors and partners who work together to build an inclusive New York City, where all children and adults have access to the resources and supports they need to thrive.  We take a comprehensive approach by offering more than 180 integrated programs in:  Education & Youth Development, Family Support, Job Training & Employment Support Services, Health, Housing, and Legal Services. We reach more than 73,000 individuals and families, including almost 13,000 youth. CAMBA serves a diverse cross section of New Yorkers from new mothers in Brownsville to job seekers in the Rockaways. More than half of our clients are immigrants and refugees from around the globe. Over 85% of our families are in living in poverty, reflecting the challenges faced by nearly 1.7 million New Yorkers today

The MOMS Partnership Model is an evidence-based approach to maternal mental health for under-resourced families. It includes a series of interventions focused on stress management and parenting skills, which are provided in eight-week cycles to small cohorts of women. These courses are informed by cognitive behavioral therapy and aim to build skills for changing mood and behavior. MOMS courses are generally co-taught by two staff, a licensed clinician and a Community Mental Health Ambassador (CMHA), a peer role. CMHAs are mothers who share lived experience with participants and support participants over the course of the curriculum. The model has already proven to be effective in a range of settings in reducing mothers’ depressive symptoms while improving their employment outcomes and ability to support their families.
