Monitor Technician - Michigan City .9 Day

At Franciscan, our Monitor Technicians maintain surveillance of telemetry unit; Interprets and documents cardiac rhythms and/or abnormal vital signs; notifies appropriate personnel of information and emergencies.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

• Maintain surveillance of telemetry unit/vital signs alarms and documentation.

• Provide telemetry strips to ensure accurate monitoring of patient condition.

• Interpret and document cardiac rhythms and notifies appropriate personnel of information and emergencies.

• Monitor for abnormal vital signs and notifies appropriate personnel of information and emergencies

• Prepare daily and cumulative ECG reports and document patient care information.

• Record telemetry measurements once per shift and as needed to identify patient trends or issues

• Answer multi-line telephones, vocera, and/or electronic medical record communications, answering the caller's questions or directing the caller to the appropriate party.

• Perform EKG's for select units after hours (location/hospital specific) as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

• Required High School Diploma/GED

• 1 year EKG Technician Preferred

• 1 year ECG interpretation Preferred

• Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
