About the position

At the core of Central National Bank’s mission is service. Our mortgage banking team is an integral part of the exceptional customer experience we, as a bank, strive to provide, assisting customers from start-to-finish with their mortgage loan needs.

A Mortgage Closer works closely with co-workers and industry partners to prepare and review closing disclosures. They order and prepare loan documents required for closing, they review signed documents to ensure completeness, and they authorize funding for all mortgage loans. Furthermore, they communicate regularly with bank employees, settlement agents, and investors, providing them with timely updates.

Requirements

Essential Job Functions:

• Reviews title commitments and all documents in loan file that are needed for closing, checking each document for accuracy
• Gathers wire instructions, title fees, completes verbal employment verifications, requests payoffs and insurance information
• Orders, prepares, and delivers closing documents in a timely manner to meet compliance regulation timelines and to ensure on-time closings
• Submits preliminary and final closing documents to settlement agents and borrowers
• Reviews completed closing documents for accuracy
• Authorizes the disbursement of loan proceeds to settlement agent
• Assists with post-closing functions to ensure the sale of loan

Applicants should possess:

• Mortgage banking experience with specific experience in working with the preparation of closing disclosures.
• Experience in working with secondary market investors.
• Attention to detail, good written and oral communication skills, and the ability to multi-task while adhering to tight deadlines
• Basic knowledge and understanding of mortgage software, familiarity with Calyx and/or Laser Pro is a plus
• A positive attitude and a desire to provide customers with an exceptional experience
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of real estate documentation

Required Education and Experience:

• 3+ years of mortgage banking experience in closing and/or document preparation preferred
• Experience working in a fast-paced and changing environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
