Job Description - Mortgage Lender

Description

POSITION SUMMARY: The role involves origination, analysis, and management of real estate/consumer loans, adhering to established lending policies. Key responsibilities include decision-making on loan approvals within set limits, fostering banking relationships through realtor outreach, and engaging in business development initiatives. Ensuring profitability and alignment with the bank's mission statement is paramount, alongside monitoring compliance with FDIC regulations and consumer protection standards in all loan processing activities.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Originate, analyze, and service real estate loans for clients, ensuring adherence to lending policies and regulations.
  • Evaluate loan applications, conduct thorough financial analysis, and make informed decisions on loan approvals.
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the loan process, addressing client inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless loan processing and timely closing.
  • Monitor loan pipeline and proactively communicate with clients to keep them informed of the status of their loan applications.
  • Ensure all loan files are within compliance guidelines and proper documentation exists to minimize technical exceptions.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions affecting the mortgage lending landscape.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with realtors, builders, and other referral sources to generate new business opportunities.
  • Responsible for referring customers to other department within the bank, including DDA, insurance and investments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • An Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or Accounting preferred.
  • Two years of banking or related experience is required.

OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to communicate well with customers and employees, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of lending regulations and policies.
  • Understanding compliance issues and regulations.
