Location: Sodus, New York Disclaimer: Reliant headquarters are located at 10 Benton Place, Sodus, New York. The position will allow for some remote work flexibility; however, an in-person presence at our headquarters is expected.

Schedule: Monday - Friday. Must be flexible to meet current and future business needs.

General Summary:

Reliant Credit union, ranked one of Rochester's top mid-sized workplaces eight years in a row, seeks a Mortgage Lending Manager to join our team.

The Mortgage Lending Manager is responsible for the overall leadership of the first mortgage department at the credit union including achieving defined mortgage production and secondary market sales goals. This includes originations, processing, underwriting, closing, pre and post-closing quality control (QC) and secondary market/investor sales. Directs the activities of the Mortgage Department to ensure timely processing of mortgage requests, so decisions can be rendered quickly and efficiently. 

As a Mortgage Lending Manager at Reliant, you will:

• Leads the overall Mortgage Department operation including originations, processing, underwriting, quality control, secondary market/investor sales, product development, regulatory compliance and mortgage systems maintenance. 
• Recommends, develops and implements strategies to attain mortgage loan growth and profitability goals that will enhance and complement the goals and objectives of the credit union's Performance Plan. 
• Ensures the maintenance of mortgage procedures and recommends policy changes to Senior Management for consideration. Maintains awareness of legal/regulatory changes pertaining to mortgages and mortgage servicing, and responds accordingly. 
• Has credit granting authority as assigned by Senior Management. Makes recommendations for mortgage underwriting authority level changes to Senior Management. 
• Makes recommendations on mortgage pricing strategy and asset liability management issues.
• Monitors all phases of the work unit operations and assures accuracy, completeness and timely processing of mortgage requests. Assures that Reliant delivers exceptional service in our mortgage origination efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher desired
• Minimum of 5 years of first mortgage industry experience required, 2-4 years managerial level experience preferred
• Experience with mortgage loan origination systems is required
• FHA DE (Direct Endorsement) Underwriter certification desired Knowledge of the mortgage industry and mortgage lending practices including Fannie Mae, SONYMA, FHA, USDA and PMI guidelines. Effective knowledge of RESPA, TILA, HVCC requirements and guidelines.

Physical Requirements:

• Use of keyboard, monitor, telephone, and other standard office equipment.
• Communicate effectively in person and via telephone, video conferencing, email, and written documents.
• Access document equipment and files above and below waist levels.
• Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
