Summary
The Mortgage Loan Assistant provides support to the mortgage loan staff in all aspects of mortgage loan originations, processing, and servicing. Supports the Credit Union’s mission, visions, strategic goals, quality initiatives and service standards. Supports and provides exceptional internal and external member service.
Essential Functions
50% 1. Responsible for providing effective support for all phases of mortgage loan activities and provides support to the mortgage loan staff. Order and follow up on title, appraisal, surveys, and all other third-party documents. Maintain and work appraiser list and maintain e-folder for all funded files. Review & update pipeline report as needed. Work with Title Company and Processor on Closing Disclosure balancing, prepare closing documents and email to Title Company.
30% 2. Establish and maintain professional business relationships with members and mortgage professionals. Prepare all mortgage loan subordination agreements. Prepare welcome packets for member closings. Send thank you cards to funded loans and surveys to denied / withdrawn applications.
10% 3. Receive files from Loan Officers and stack documentation in proper order, order appraisal, title work and HOI insurance.
10% 4. Maintain appraiser list, licenses and E&O insurance and EEOC review as needed.
Non-essential Functions
1. May perform a variety of miscellaneous tasks including typing, filing, computer input & ordering supplies, forms, and disclosures, send out Fed Ex packages, print all incoming appraisals, and other duties as assigned.
Expectations
Education: High school graduate or equivalent
Experience: 2 years financial institution experience, understanding of related legal and regulatory standards, and Credit Union policies and procedures and knowledge of completion of pertinent applications to be reviewed.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: FFCU complies with the SAFE Act requirements and requires that all employees and volunteers who meet the definition of a MLO (Mortgage Loan Originator - individual who takes a residential mortgage loan application and offers or negotiates terms or a residential mortgage loans) to be registered with the NMLSR (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry). Results of criminal background checks are available with completed registration. The credit union will review completed registration (including background check results) to ensure that there is no increased risk based on the results of a completed registration. Management will determine if action is necessary based on a review by the SAFE Act Officer.
