Position Summary:

The Mortgage Loan Closer/Funder is responsible for the closing and funding process including preparation of the closing coordination, preparation of the initial closing disclosure, closing document preparation, and funding of mortgage loans. They are responsible for completing missing or correcting erroneous data as well as reviewing info submitted by the loan officer. Ensure loans are documented and closed in accordance with the credit approval. Well-versed in TRID guidelines and regulatory requirements. Maintains a positive attitude and conducts business in a professional manner. Assures that all members, staff, and visitors are treated with consideration and respect and is responsible for meeting production levels set by USF Federal Credit Union.

Essential Functions Include:

• Accurately prepare closing disclosures, closing documents and fund mortgage loans including home equity lines of credit.
• Effectively communicate with members, vendors, internal contacts, and external contacts in a positive, and assertive manner to make sure all required deadlines are met and deliver regular status reports requests. Contact members to explain the closing process and request additional documentation as needed.
• Prioritize and monitor daily workflow to ensure all loans are being worked in accordance with company's timeline expectations. Monitors loan status to ensure that time/quality standards are met.
• Performs pre-closing quality review of loan files prior to releasing closing documents.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Reports to:

Mortgage Operations Manager

Required Education and Experience:

• A high school education or G.E.D.

• A minimum of 2 years’ closing experience
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Aptitude to learn quickly and solve problems.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others in a fast paced, deadline driven, team environment typical to mortgage lending.
• Knowledge of mortgage lending criteria, compliance, federal/state regulations

Additional Skills:

• Must have a high level of organizational skills, analytical skills and be able to multitask
• Proficient with standard computer applications including Microsoft Office.

Work Environment:

Hybrid work environment – one day in-office per week

Physical Requirements:

Sitting frequently, walking occasionally, use of hands frequently, walking occasionally, use of hands frequently, hearing constantly, talking frequently, exerting up to 10lbs of force occasionally to life, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
