Motor Grader Operator

We are seeking a skilled Motor Grader Operator to join our team.  The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of heavy construction equipment operation and safety practices.

The motor grader operator works independently as well as part of a team in various aspects of construction.  The motor grader operator operates self-propelled grader to spread and level dirt, gravel, and stone, to grade specifications in construction and maintenance of earthwork structures.  

Key Responsibilities:

     *  Operate motor grader in a safe and efficient manner.

     *  Performs daily inspections and maintenance of equipment to be utilized.

     *  Drives grader and moves levers to regulate height and angle of grader blade.

     *  Lowers scarifier that loosens packed soil to permit grading and to tilt front wheels or grader when making sharp turns.

     *  Drives grader in successive passes over working area, observing reference stakes to level surface to specified grade.

     *  Work in close conjunction with others to ensure that the leveling and grading activities align with project specifications.

     *  Demonstrates good work practices through compliance and support of all site safety and health guidelines.

     *  Operational knowledge and experience of heavy equipment, specifically the motor grader.

     *  Knowledge of construction processes and industry.

     *  Possess a valid driver's license.

     * Candidate must possess an OSHA 10 certification or be willing to obtain it.

     *  Candidate must possess a PowerSafe Safety training certification or be willing to obtain it.

     *  Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

     *  Coordination skills and reflexes to operate the grader's controls smoothly, especially during complicated maneuvers.

     *  Successful candidate must complete a drug screening and background check prior to employment.
