Motor Vehicle Dispatcher

The Motor Vehicle Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating the daily assignment of vehicles and drivers to support transportation requirements. This position maintains dispatch records, tracks vehicle usage, and ensures vehicles are assigned efficiently to meet operational needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assign vehicles and drivers for passenger and freight transportation. 
• Issue vehicle keys, trip logs, and driver credentials. 
• Record vehicle departures, destinations, cargo, and expected return times. 
• Monitor vehicle status and follow up on overdue or delayed vehicles. 
• Maintain records of mileage, fuel usage, maintenance, and repairs. 
• Communicate with drivers and customers regarding transportation requests and delivery status. 
• Assist with establishing delivery or service routes. 
• Coordinate vehicle loading and unloading as needed. 
• Issue equipment to drivers, such as hand trucks and dollies. 
• Perform other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent. 
• Experience in dispatching, transportation, fleet operations, or a related field preferred. 
• Strong organizational and communication skills. 
• Basic computer skills and the ability to maintain accurate records. 
• Valid driver's license preferred.
