Position Responsibilities:

• Performing opening office duties and maintaining a clean and professional waiting room
• Greeting patients and making them feel welcome in a polite, prompt, and helpful manner
• Accurately updating patient personal and insurance information as needed
• Verifying and scanning copies of insurance cards and identification as needed
• Assisting patients in completing appropriate paperwork, answering patient questions/concerns
• Collecting co-payments and payments and verifying insurance eligibility
• Running, managing, and faxing reports and records, scanning and attaching reports to patient's Electronic Medical Record
• Completing charge slips before submitting to billing
• Checking out patients and scheduling follow-up appointments
• Answering incoming calls related to MRI in a friendly and efficient manner; transferring calls to the correct person or department as needed
• Making reminder phone calls for future appointments
• Reconciling cash box balances
• Participating in training new employees as needed
• Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with all HIPAA rules and regulations

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Previous customer service experience is required
• Previous medical office experience is preferred
• Knowledge of personal computer applications and Electronic Medical Record
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Ability to effectively communicate and interact with patients, families, and staff from diverse backgrounds
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively and accurately
• Ability to travel to other ORA locations occasionally as needed
