Position Responsibilities:
- Performing opening office duties and maintaining a clean and professional waiting room
- Greeting patients and making them feel welcome in a polite, prompt, and helpful manner
- Accurately updating patient personal and insurance information as needed
- Verifying and scanning copies of insurance cards and identification as needed
- Assisting patients in completing appropriate paperwork, answering patient questions/concerns
- Collecting co-payments and payments and verifying insurance eligibility
- Running, managing, and faxing reports and records, scanning and attaching reports to patient's Electronic Medical Record
- Completing charge slips before submitting to billing
- Checking out patients and scheduling follow-up appointments
- Answering incoming calls related to MRI in a friendly and efficient manner; transferring calls to the correct person or department as needed
- Making reminder phone calls for future appointments
- Reconciling cash box balances
- Participating in training new employees as needed
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with all HIPAA rules and regulations
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Previous customer service experience is required
- Previous medical office experience is preferred
- Knowledge of personal computer applications and Electronic Medical Record
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with patients, families, and staff from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively and accurately
- Ability to travel to other ORA locations occasionally as needed
