MRI TECH-HOSP SUPP/MVH Main

Works under their scope of practice and in accordance with certificate/licensure in the administration of medications, operation of equipment, and venipuncture. Coordinates patient flow and the activities of the MRI scanner including MRI safe practices. 1. Performs MRI procedures of diagnostic quality as ordered by the referring physician and/or radiologist on patients of all ages according to established protocols and evaluates MRI studies for technical image quality. 2. Obtains clinical history and data for correlation with the MRI procedure. 3. Implements screening and safety measures in accordance with prescribed MRI safety standards. Performs daily and weekly QC as required. 4. Prepares and administers contrast media to the patient according to policy. Practices sterile techniques. 5. Assists Radiologist in special procedures and in performing medical treatment during emergency situations. 6. Coordinates patient care with other areas in order to optimize patient time and satisfaction 7. Assesses learning needs and educates patients/families regarding procedures based on individual needs. § Type of degree: Allied Health § Area of study or major: Medical Imaging Sciences to include additional MRI physics coursework or completed within 6 months of hire § ARRT RT (R) or ARMRIT registry required Minimum Level of Experience Required: No prior job-related work experience § Cross-sectional anatomy § American College of Radiology (ACR) MRI Safe Practice Guidelines § Proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) § Proficient in Radiology Information System (RIS) and Image Storage § CPR Certification required within 30 days of hire
