MRI Trainee

Envision Radiology is hiring an MRI Trainee for Keller, TX
Thursday/Friday 10:00 AM -10:30 PM and Saturdays 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM| Position Pay Range: $32.00 - $43.92

Summary/Objective

Performs MRI procedures according to protocol and age specific needs, including patient preparation under the guidance of a certified MRI Technologist. Maintains and monitors patient environment, adheres to safety procedures and contributes to the security and maintenance of the unit.

Essential Functions

• Provides Patient interface to ascertain history and communicate exam details


• Reviews patient charts for missed clinical information and/or consent


• Screens patients for surgical and other implants and maintain basic knowledge of compatibility of implants in the MRI environment


• Performs MRI scans while putting patients at ease


• Transfers of images to other locations as needed


• Screens patients for contraindications and contrast allergies


• Performs contrast injections using aseptic technique


• Coordinates scan protocols with radiologist


• Interacts with supervisor on problem issues


• Maintains equipment in good working order


• Performs all quality procedures as required


• Adheres to Envision’s Compliance and Quality & Safety Programs

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervision responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in an environmentally controlled outpatient clinical environment. Potential exposure to radiation, which is minimized by the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Possible exposure to bodily fluids, communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation and other conditions common to a medical office environment. Often requires work in cool, dimly lighted rooms.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by and employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

Job Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

• Two years prior experience with magnetic Resonance Imaging. (MR) or any ARRT program 

Education / Certifications;

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Technologist program


• In process of obtaining American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT)


• In process of obtaining Registry in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR)


• Current license from state medical board if applicable


• Current CPR certification
