POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for supervision of staff and spends the majority of time communicating with, motivating, training and evaluating members while planning and directing their work. This position has the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline subordinate employees or effectively recommend such action. This position is responsible for planning and directing the work of the MROC Training and Evidence Management Unit. The incumbent will exercise independent judgment supervising personnel of the unit and working with regional Command Staff in the formulation of policies and procedures related to the training and evidence functions for the region.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

• Ensuring that all aspects of training functions are completed in a timely manner;


• Providing guidance and leadership to the training unit personnel and ensuring that MROC members are complying with all agency-mandated training policies;


• Conducting periodic reviews to determine ways to enhance current processes and procedures and continuously keeping MROC Command Staff appraised of any discrepancies or problems that may arise;


• Managing training requests, classroom reservations, training equipment needs, MROC visitor statistics, and regional Training announcement dissemination;


• Maintaining member training transcripts, electronic and hard copy, and Task Force Quarterly Reports;


• Managing AIM Administration, AIM Quarterly Case reporting, and AIM Training;


• Overseeing MROC’s inventory and evidence functions to ensure that the region remains in compliance with FDLE and CALEA evidence policies; 


• Overseeing evidence intake, transfer, and disposal; and


• Maintaining investigative evidence folders and the evidence vault. 

To be considered as a potential candidate, you must meet the minimum qualifications(s) listed below. Degrees must be from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. At least 1 year of administrative work experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of the methods of data collection;


• Knowledge of the principles of human behavior, learning and communication;


• Ability to understand and apply applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures;


• Ability to conduct research;


• Ability to work independently;


• Ability to use problem solving techniques;


• Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments;


• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; and


• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

BASE SALARY:

• $63,036.00

NOTES:

Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy. The elements of this selection process may include a work sample and/or interview. Future vacancies may be filled from this position advertisement.
