Job Description - MSC Teresa's Place Visitation Monitor/DV Case Manager


As the MCS Teresa’s Place Visitation Monitor/DV Case Manager you would play a central role in helping clients access services and resources, monitor visits between children and non-custodial parents and facilitate safe exchanges for clients with custody arrangements. You would use your professional case management skills to assist clients in managing and overcoming their difficulties to improve day to day functioning, assessing clients for services, support other members of the team and collaborate with professionals within and outside of our agency to assure clients receive the very best care available.

Specifically, the MCS Teresa’s Place Visitation Monitor/Case Manager will:

· Oversee custody exchanges

· Supervise visits between children and non-custodial parents, which at times may include redirecting behaviors and/or terminating visits

· Make appropriate referrals to MCS DV Services or other local resources as needed

· Identifies and understands available resources, builds and maintains effective working relationships with a network of interdisciplinary systems and refer clients when appropriate

· Organize materials, services and activities to accomplish program goals efficiently and effectively

· Works with clients and makes appropriate referrals to address needs, including but not limited to, education, housing, judicial system, mental health, and substance use needs

· Identifies coping mechanisms and natural supports that may be available

· Provide legal advocacy and coordinate court accompaniment for clients as needed

· Assist and educate clients (resident and non-resident) in the completion of restraining order forms

· Enhances client problem-solving skills, independent living skills, and socialization skills

· Perform intake/exit interviews

· Maintains competency and proficiency in Domestic Violence training (will complete 15 hours of training each year)

· Maintain accurate and complete documentation for all clients

· Engage and support other team members in a group process to identify and solve problems

· Prepare clear, accurate and appropriate written communication and/or documents and can demonstrate positive/effective verbal communication

· Maintain monthly program statistics and enters data for computer generated reports

· Completes and submit reports, observation notes and other data in a timely manner

· Assist with keeping the visitation rooms clean and sanitized

· May at times assist the administrative team or shelter team when scheduled visits are low

· Performs other job-related duties assigned by the director or his/her designee

· Other duties as assigned by the Program Director or Executive Director


Requirements

• Requires standing, sitting, driving and walking for prolonged periods of time

• Occasionally lifts and carries items up to 20 pounds

• Requires working under stress in emergency situations

• Requires ability to record data electronically and communicate with clients 

• Requires occasional driving in adverse weather conditions

• Requires frequent use of computer 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associates degree with 2 years of relevant work experience; bachelor’s degree preferred

• Proficient in basic computer skills

• Colorado driver’s license, a good driving record and transportation

Salary and Benefits

• Full-time position paid 

• Shift hours are Tues – Thurs 11am - 8pm; Fri & Sat 9am - 6pm, (1-hour lunch break included)

• Health Insurance available after 60 days
