MS/US Math Teacher 26-27

Savannah Christian Preparatory School, a prominent school in Savannah, Georgia with a rich history and known for its strong liberal arts curriculum, seeks faculty for the upcoming academic year.  The candidates for this position will be carefully and prayerfully evaluated according to the following essential criteria:

Key Responsibilities:

• Curriculum development. Create lesson plans aligned with applicable standards and student needs, incorporating diverse teaching methods and activities to cater to different learning styles. 
• Instructional delivery. Teach concepts clearly and effectively, utilizing visual aids, technology, and real-world applications to enhance understanding. 
• Student assessment. Regularly monitor student progress through quizzes, tests, projects, and class participation to identify strengths and areas needing additional support. 
• Individualized learning. Provide differentiated instruction to address the diverse needs of students, offering extra help or enrichment activities as required. 
• Classroom management. Maintain a positive and structured learning environment, promoting active participation and student engagement. 
• Communication: Regularly communicate with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student performance, progress, and any concerns. 
• Professional development. Actively participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated on current teaching strategies and best practices. 

Education:

• A bachelor’s degree in the appropriate subject is required at a minimum; a master’s degree is preferred. 
• Formal classroom teaching experience preferred.

Mathematics Required Skills:

• Strong mathematical knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of mathematical concepts across various levels. 
• Excellent communication skills: Ability to clearly explain complex mathematical ideas in an accessible way to students of varying abilities. 
• Teaching pedagogy: Knowledge of effective teaching methods, including inquiry-based learning, differentiated instruction, and cooperative learning. 
• Classroom management skills: Ability to create a positive learning environment, manage student behavior, and foster collaboration. 
• Assessment expertise: Skills to design valid and reliable assessments to accurately measure student learning. 
• Technology proficiency: Ability to integrate technology tools into math instruction to enhance engagement and learning
