Responsible for preparing and operating ultrasound equipment during diagnostic patient exams while exercising procedures safely and accurately to capture specific images ordered following protocols to aid in patient diagnosis
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Prepares equipment for imaging tests, based on physicians' orders and in adherence to department safeguards and protocols to ensure quality results.
2. Prepares patient and performs radiology procedures.
3. Demonstrates competency in the delivery of care and clinical techniques with scope of practice such as basic CPR and responding appropriately to emergency situations.
4. Maintains records and logs as required by department protocols and licensure requirements.
5. Performs incidental general office duties to include; answering phone; scheduling; filing; maintaining patient records; ordering supplies.
6. Other relevant duties as assigned
Required:
1. Graduate from an accredited school of Ultrasonography, which demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities is also required.
2. American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), with secondary registry completed or obtained within 1 year.
3. Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS Certification
