Job Description

Apollo is hiring a Data Center MEP Construction & Commissioning Support Engineer to join our Mission Critical Support Services group to enable General Contractors (GCs), Electrical Contractors (ECs), Mechanical Contractors (MCs), and other trade partners in the execution of data center MEP construction and commissioning scopes.

This role is hands-on and field-driven, focused on helping onsite teams remove constraints, accelerate progress, improve coordination, and close execution gaps across complex builds. Support may span multiple construction and commissioning workstreams, including but not limited to workface planning, trade coordination, quality and punch support, inspections, documentation support, and commissioning and turnover support.

This is an onsite, client-facing role that may require approximately 90% or more travel to various client locations.

Key Responsibilities

Support GC/EC/MC/Owner construction and commissioning teams by:

  • Performing daily field walks and verifying installation progress against drawings, specifications, and agreed execution plans.

  • Tracking and documenting installation status of MEP systems, identifying gaps, and escalating constraints and blockers to the project lead and responsible trade partners.

  • Performing inspections on materials, equipment, and construction/installation deliveries to ensure compliance with project requirements and approved designs.

  • Supporting field execution planning by confirming prerequisites (access, materials, manpower, permits, outages, vendor availability) and helping maintain near-term schedules and look-ahead plans.

  • Supporting quality control and deficiency closure by identifying punch items, tracking closure status, and coordinating re-inspections to verify completion.

  • Supporting commissioning readiness by verifying prerequisites, assisting with documentation organization, and helping resolve test-blocking issues in advance of commissioning activities.

  • Coordinating with and supporting commissioning providers to execute commissioning efforts, including tracking action items, documenting outcomes, and supporting issue resolution.

Qualifications

  • 1 - 2 Years of experience working on data center or other MEP systems in field/onsite settings (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).

  • Proven ability to execute consistently onsite: complete field-based tasks, document findings clearly, and drive closure of assigned actions.

  • Comfort operating in client environments with high expectations and tight timelines.

  • Proficiency with common field/project tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, and Excel-based trackers.

Physical Demands

The following physical demands must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions:

  • Frequently manipulating, moving, or grasping small parts, devices, or tools.

  • Frequently required to remain in a stationary position.

  • Frequently moving through office areas, critical facilities and other environments, including tight and confined spaces.

  • Exposure to low/high temperatures and outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.

  • Working and walking on different types of terrain on active construction sites (e.g., concrete flooring, gravel, unpaved roads).

  • Frequently ascending and descending stairs and ladders to access equipment.

  • Occasionally positioning oneself under or over equipment.

  • Occasionally moving equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Prerequisites for Employment

  • Successful background check, including pre-employment drug screening

  • US citizens, permanent residents or any candidate with eligibility to work in the US

What We Offer

Apollo offers its employees a full benefits package, including:

  • Health and wellness plans (medical, dental, vision, life, disability)

  • Flexible spending accounts

  • Paid time off, holidays, and more

  • Paid parental leave

  • 401K plan with immediate match benefits

  • Employee assistance programs

  • Tuition reimbursement programs

  • Employee discount programs

Apollo challenges the brightest, most talented, and driven individuals in the industry by providing an environment that embraces initiative, diversity, and achievement. We are an Equal Employment Opportunity, Affirmative Action employer supporting women, minorities, veterans and people with disabilities.
