Ammunition Support Point (ASP) Munitions Operations Supervisor - Wheeler

Job Description Summary:

The Munitions Operations Supervisor oversees and manages the daily operations of the Ammunition Supply Point (ASP) at the Wheeler location, supporting the U.S. Army’s Enhanced Army Global Logistics Enterprise (EAGLE) Logistics Support Services contract. This role collaborates with the Munitions Division Manager at Schofield and requires proven supervisory and managerial experience, strong communication and leadership skills, and in-depth knowledge of Army sustainment procedures, policies, and precedents. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and regulatory guidance on amnesty services to receive and store non-documented munitions as required.
  • Assist in providing support during the absence of the Munitions Manager as coordinated by the Government COR, Ammunition Accountable Officer, or Contracting Officer.
  • Oversee the safe receipt, storage, issuance, shipping, inspection, handling, inventory, and turn-in of Class V conventional ammunition.
  • Plan, organize, and supervise ASP work assignments, providing direction as necessary.
  • Ensure safe, timely, cost-effective, and environmentally sound operations of Ammunition Storage Areas (ASA) and Ammunition Supply Points (ASP) for stock control, inventory, stock accounting, receiving, and shipping.
  • Supervise tasks related to correctly marking ammunition packing, crating, and handling for munitions shipments in compliance with CFR 49, MIL-STD-129 series, and AMC regulations.
  • Track administrative training plans and provide training for ammunition and explosives (AE) employees per DA PAM 385-64, AMC Reg. 350-4, and ALARACT Messages.
  • Provide day-to-day technical, regulatory, and operational guidance.
  • Track quarterly and annual environmental compliance (ECO) training requirements.
  • Manage munitions operations to ensure customer needs are met and employees are mentored for growth.
  • Provide technical and operational guidance as needed.
  • Process purchase requisitions for supplies and services needed for the contract.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and U.S. Army regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated professional work experience in Army ammunition supply inventory management and military customer support.
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
  • Must be able to obtain a favorable Personnel Reliability Program background screen (DA Form 7708)
  • Must demonstrate strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including presentation abilities.
  • Proven ability to organize and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Capable of resolving issues and recommending continual improvements consistent with applicable standards, policies, and regulations.
  • Preferred qualifications a high school diploma, and (5) years of applicable Army A&E experience.
  • Proficient utilizing Microsoft Office applications
  • Familiarity with hand tools, AIT, powered equipment, and material handling equipment.
  • Must successfully complete and maintain the following certifications: AMMO-31, AMMO-45, AMMO-63, AMMO-64, AMMO-67, AMMO-68, AMMO-75, AMMO-76, AMMO-108/AMMO Handlers, and AMMO-112.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
  • Thorough understanding of ASP operations and inventory management processes.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify areas for improvement and support in implementing operational enhancements.
  • Familiarity with explosive safety and physical security protocols and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with applicable Army regulations and standard operating procedures.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements:

  • Daily work in an ammunition and explosive storage area is required.
  • Adherence to proper lifting procedures and practices is mandatory.
  • Must be able to work safely at heights.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50+ pounds, as well as pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squating, climbing, and reaching.
  • May need to handle hazardous materials and use personal protective equipment.
