NACE Inspector

Metro Engineering Solutions, LLC (“MES”) is looking for a NACE Inspector to join our team! MES is a multifaceted utility and telecommunications engineering firm serving clients throughout the Midwest

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inspection of gas pipeline coatings, observation of containment, disposal of hazardous waste, surface preparation, coating application, and familiarity with all applicable local, state, and federal guidelines
• Complete and maintain daily records of field observations
• Read and interpret plans, specifications, and standards
• Perform material sampling and testing on applicable materials
• Assist other project management staff with identifying problems and developing viable solutions for consideration

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Primarily work outdoors, must be able to work in extreme heat and cold.
• Regularly required to walk for long distances.
• Frequently lifts or move objects up to 50 pounds.
• Climb ladders, access and inspect utility infrastructure and cables by climbing down through manhole covered areas

• High School diploma or equivalent
• At least three years experience with cleaning and painting of steel, preferably bridge structural steel (two years experience with NACE Level 2 certification will meet the three year requirement)
• Must have a minimum NACE Level 1 Certification
• Possess a valid driver's license
• Physically able to climb or crawl through a containment system
• Ability to pass occupational physical with pulmonary clearance (respirator)
• Ability to work as a member of a team and independently, have some flexibility in their schedule
