Nanny Position

Location: Newton, Massachusetts
Compensation: $28–$35 per hour, depending on experience
Commitment Level: Long-term
Guaranteed Hours: 20 hours
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–7:00 PM

Position Overview

A family in Newton, Massachusetts is seeking an experienced, dependable Nanny to join their household in a part-time, live-out capacity. This is a driving-forward role supporting two school-age children, ages 9–12. The Nanny's primary responsibility is transporting the children from school to home and on to their after-school activities, with time at home in between spent on homework support, snacks, and light routines. The family anticipates the role may expand over time to include additional tasks and hours for a Nanny who is a strong fit. Household cleaning is handled separately by dedicated staff, so this position is focused on the children.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, reliable transportation for two children from school to home each weekday
• Drive children to and from after-school activities and classes
• Supervise children at home between and after activities
• Provide homework support and encourage independent study habits
• Prepare and serve afternoon snacks and simple meals
• Maintain the children's afternoon routines and activity schedule
• Tidy up after the children's activities, meals, and play
• Communicate clearly with parents regarding schedules, timing changes, and daily updates
• Take on additional household or child-related tasks as the role grows

Requirements

• Prior professional experience as a Nanny with school-age children
• Valid driver's license
• Reliable personal vehicle in safe working condition, with current registration and insurance
• Comfortable driving daily in the Newton area and adapting to activity changes
• Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain prior to start
• Strong time management and punctuality
• Must be able to provide 3–5 professional references
