Job Description - National Director of Sales

Position Overview : The National Director of Sales is responsible for hiring, managing, and mentoring the sales team to meet and exceed their revenue goals. Responsible for identifying, qualifying and closing business opportunities from national markets for the Company's products and services. Our Sales/Account Executives are responsible for maintaining high activity standards, prospecting, and qualifying leads from various sources. Heritage strives to provide an unmatched experience to our customers from the RFP process to post-show close. In this role, you will report to the President and will continue to define and develop sales plans, strategies, best practices, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities Summary:
Primary sales team mentor - direct report leader
Primary sales SOP/Process communicator
Build, implement and reinforce sales team structure
Hold sales team accountable for methods, frequency and success of lead follow up
Solicit new business both individually and as part of the team lead
Key Responsibilities Itemized:
Manage all day-to-day group sales and serve as team mentor and leader of team environments.
Schedule, plan and hold regular sales teams meetings and training sessions for sales teams.
Partner closely with the President, sales team leadership and sales team to develop and understand customer bios, relationships, sales materials, support and lead generation campaigns and processes
Responsible and accountable for department budgets including forecasting and distributing reports to the executive team.
Monitor all AE CRM activity and hold the team accountable for targeted and planned weekly follow ups, touches, feedback and closings utilizing CVC lead lists, google searches, CRM among other sources.
After consultation with President and/or SVP of Sales, GM's assign all inbound lead distribution by determining which sales team member is the best fit for the client.
Set individual goals by year and quarter to achieve the business sales goals.
Engage in repeat business renewal if requested and understand and pursue growth of existing vertical opportunities within relationship.
Review and approve the sales team's travel and expenses.
Responsible for the team's salaries, and commission sales plans.
Coach, mentor, and develop the sales team members and career paths.
Individually and supporting the team, call on and develop new business nationwide for the Company.
Work with senior leadership, current account management and sales teams to successfully transition accounts to long-term account executives and account management teams.
Develop and implement lead list strategy and hold teams accountable for consistent and planned follow up.
Identify and ensure that the Company has access to CVC and the most effective industry lead lists.
On a quarterly basis, perform comprehensive and team-based sales visits to each of the Company's branch offices developing new business, and visiting venue staff and potential customers while promoting the Heritage brand.
Ensure that organized, efficient, and productive sales meetings are scheduled and take place amongst the Company's sales teams on a every other week basis.
Support and enforce use of Salesforce, based on SOP
Maintain and update the Company's proposal template files and folders for use by the sales team as necessary
Works across all departments to share insights and centralize information
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all team members
Treat everyone with respect and appreciate each person for the unique skillset they bring to Heritage
Maintain a positive, we can solve any problem attitude
Manage database for CVC memberships and renewals
Other duties as may be assigned
Position Requirements:
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Salesforce, Boomer
Strong Oral and written communication skills
Dynamic, consultative and influential sales communications style and results oriented
Effective interpersonal skills
Strong analytical skills
Excellent organizational capability
Proven track record of building sales profitability in a competitive business environment.
Well-developed sales, people, communication, and sales policy experience.
Experience building and managing payout of sales commission plans.
Experience with CRM, sales forecasting, and reports.
5+ years of people management experience.
Physical Requirements:
Frequent periods of sitting, standing and walking. Periodic bending & stooping, kneeling, squatting and crouching, crawling, reaching, twisting and carrying, pushing, pulling and lifting weight amounts of 25 lbs. or less. Regular and frequent, repetitive hand motion and grasping.
