Job Description - National Nurse Educator

Full-time

Description

Medix Infusion is seeking a National Nurse Educator to lead clinical education initiatives across our growing network of ambulatory infusion centers. In this role, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of education and competency-based training programs for nurses. Through a combination of virtual learning, in-person instruction, skills simulations, and site visits, you’ll ensure our clinical teams deliver safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered infusion care.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned infusion nurse and dynamic educator who thrives on coaching others, elevating clinical standards, and creating scalable education frameworks in a fast-growing organization.

Medix Infusion is a technology-driven healthcare platform dedicated to enhancing patient care and access to infusion therapies. We specialize in disease management and infusion pharmacy services for chronic and acutely ill patients, especially those in underserved communities. We offer personalized home and in-suite infusion therapies, ensuring convenience and comfort. Our expert team provides a comprehensive range of treatments, including anti-infectives, biologics, IVIG, and other injectables, making each patient’s journey as smooth as possible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and evaluate comprehensive clinical education programs—including onboarding, annual competencies, and continuing education—for infusion nursing staff.
  • Deliver training through multiple modalities: instructor-led, virtual, e-learning, simulation labs, and hands-on demonstrations.
  • Lead education on infusion therapy protocols, vascular access device management, emergency response procedures, safe drug administration, and infection control.
  • Plan and facilitate regional and national bootcamps, workshops, and clinical skill-building events in collaboration with field leadership.
  • Conduct routine site visits to evaluate clinical competencies, reinforce standards of care, and support quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of staff education, licensure, and certifications in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with compliance, quality, and clinical operations teams to align educational programs with CMS, INS, ACHC, and ONS guidelines.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to preceptors, managers, and frontline staff across all infusion centers.
  • Support EMR training initiatives to optimize clinical documentation practices.
  • Contribute to the development and regular updates of clinical protocols, policies, and evidence-based guidelines.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement (QI) efforts by designing targeted education plans based on performance metrics.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the U.S.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Nursing Education, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of clinical nursing experience, including at least 2 years in infusion therapy, ambulatory care, or specialty pharmacy settings.
  • Proven experience as a clinical educator, preceptor, or nurse mentor.
  • Advanced knowledge of infusion therapy, vascular access, and specialty drug administration best practices.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with digital learning platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, and clinical documentation systems.
  • Ability and willingness to travel nationally up to 75% (including overnight travel).

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Education, or Healthcare Leadership.
  • National certification such as CRNI®, OCN®, IgCN®, or similar.
  • Multi-state licensure or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
  • Experience designing and delivering simulation-based education programs.
