Job Summary:

The National Property Tax Consultant is responsible for managing property tax appeals for clients across multiple jurisdictions throughout the United States and Canada. This role involves analyzing property assessments, researching valuation data, developing appeal strategies, preparing supporting documentation, negotiating assessment reductions with county assessors, and representing clients during informal and formal hearings. The National Property Tax Consultant partners with clients to provide exceptional service while maximizing property tax savings and ensuring compliance with applicable property tax laws, regulations, and deadlines.

Job Responsibility:

· Review and analyze client data, assessor evidence, appraisal reports, market data, financial statements, rent rolls, operating statements, and other supporting documentation.

· Prepare tax renditions, valuation analyses, appeal documentation, and hearing evidence.

· Conduct market research and utilize company systems to support appeal strategies.

· Negotiate assessment reductions with assessors and taxing authorities during informal hearings.

· Represent clients at formal hearings before Appraisal Review Boards (ARBs), Boards of Equalization, and other appeal tribunals.

· Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, assessors, appraisal district personnel, and other taxing    authorities.

· Collaborate with internal teams to ensure filing deadlines and client objectives are met.

· Stay current on property tax laws, valuation methodologies, and jurisdictional requirements across multiple states and provinces.

· Travel throughout the United States and Canada to attend hearings, inspect properties, and meet with clients.

· Other duties as assigned.


Requirements

  

· Active Texas property tax consultant license, licensed attorney or certified appraiser, required.

· Minimum one year of property tax consulting experience with informal and formal hearings.

· Knowledge of property valuation principles and tax codes.

· Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.

· Ability to interpret financial statements, appraisal reports, and market data.

· Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn other software applications.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

· Willingness to travel throughout the United States and Canada and work extended hours during tax protest season.

· Professional demeanor with a strong commitment to client service.
