Job Summary: The National Retail Manager will lead our internal National Retail MerchandisingTeam and collaborate with assigned national third-party merchandising broker teams. Your primaryresponsibility will be to develop and execute retail merchandising and relationship strategies,bolstering customer penetration and brand visibility.
Key Responsibilities: • Oversee the planning, season preparedness, and implementation of U.S. Retail Merchandising strategies. • Ensure strategic-based programs are presented to all retail customers with comprehensiveresource support. • Meet or exceed all retail merchandising Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as assigned in theannual business process. • Manage product display servicing in a timely and cost-effective manner, includingstart-of-season set-up, replenishments, and end-of- season consolidation. • Create captivating store layouts that showcase The W. Atlee Burpee Company's brand power and aesthetic. • Prepare annual and quarterly budgets, presenting them to relevant stakeholders. • Manage travel and expenditure within allocated budgets, adhering to Company Policies. • Track inventory movement, introduce competitive promotions, sales, and price changessystematically. • Identify trends, monitor supply and demand, and collaborate with cross-functional teams tobrainstorm new projects and campaigns. • Ensure assigned regions meet or exceed annual budget plans and retail merchandisingKPIs. • Provide monthly market analysis and develop tactical plans to achieve stronger point-of-sale(POS) in core business. • Maintain retail execution data and customer information in assigned resources/toolsconsistently.
Additional Information: • Provide direct leadership to three Retail Merchandising Managers (RMMs) and manage 180+Part-time Merchandisers. • Report directly to the SVP Retail Sales. • Collaborate closely with various cross-functional teams, including Customer Business Leadership,Sales & Operations, Customer Support, Finance, IT, and Human Resources. • Ideal candidates possess exceptional communication skills, deadline-driven focus, and a creativeeye for in-store displays. • Expected outcomes include improved market share and increased profitability within assignedretail accounts. • Requires a focused and disciplined approach to business tactics, with continuous evaluation ofretail sales and customer effectiveness.
Position Qualifications: • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in Consumer Products; experience in SKU intense category,Lawn & Garden, other Seasonal, and/or In-store merchandising execution preferred. • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in managing a remote team of merchandisers. • Bachelor’s Degree Required. • Demonstrated ability to identify growth opportunities based on an in-depth understanding ofcompany and national retail customer strategies. • Proven track record of innovative thinking and risk-taking. • Strong team and interpersonal skills. • Experience developing successful new business-building ideas based on total understanding ofcustomer’s business drivers and go-to-market strategies.
