Natural Living Clerk

Position Summary: The Natural Living department at Georgetown Market sells vitamins, minerals, herbs, essential oils, and natural body care products. Out of a passion for healthy living and the well-being of others, Natural Living Clerks provide superior customer service and sales of natural supplements and body care products.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Customer Service:

• Greets and receives customers in a welcoming manner and provides exceptional customer service throughout the day.
• Help further the customer experience while present on the sales floor by assisting customers as they select products, sharing knowledge about our products and natural health, and ensuring that each person is given attention.
• Work with customers, both on the floor and on the phone, to provide information within the limits of DSHEA.
• Drive sales through engagement with customers, suggestive selling, and sharing product knowledge. 
• Escort customers to other areas of the store, as needed, advising customers on specialized diets and healthy eating. 
• Maintain an orderly appearance throughout the department by facing and straightening products on the shelves, counters, and displays throughout the day. This will require the use of a step stool to reach upper shelves, as well as bending or crouching to reach lower shelves. 

Knowledge and Training:

• Natural supplement and body care product knowledge, and the eager willingness to continuously expand knowledge, are required. 
• Mandatory training will be provided during employment and continued education on industry trends and industry research is essential to growth.

Other Responsibilities:

• Attend departmental meetings, trainings hosted by brand representatives and manufacturers, and store meetings. 
• In addition to customer service, other key duties include inventory control, signage, stocking, backstocking, facing shelves, and organization of product and educational materials.
• Participate in daily housekeeping chores, including cleaning shelves and vacuuming.
• Work as a team with the entire store staff. Assist in other departments as needed.
• Maintain awareness concerning loss prevention, security, and safety. 
• Other duties, as assigned.

• Attentive to details, including ensuring products are located in their proper places on the shelves and discerning the subtle differences between similar products. 

REQUIREMENTS: 

• This position requires good customer service skills, communication, and ability to work on a team.
• A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a working knowledge of supplements and health.
• Specialized training in natural healing, desirable. 
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule. This may include morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts.
• Must be able to physically stand on feet for a 6-8-hour shift.
• Must be able to bend up and down, climb a stepstool, and crouch or kneel to stock shelves.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
