NC SPRAY BOOTH OPERATOR (PRIME & PAINT)

Job Summary:

Prepares surfaces for painting and finishing; mixes and matches paints, and applies undercoats and finish coats using spray gun to a variety of wooden pieces as part of the overall production process, ensuring that quality standards are achieved through the effective use of provided equipment, materials, supplies, and labor.

Essential Functions:

• 
  

  Sets up spray equipment (spray pumps, spray guns, and spray booth) according to approved painting techniques.

  
  


• 
  

  Ensures that color match procedure is followed, reporting opportunely any mismatch.

  
  


• 
  

  Inspects completed work for proper operation, adherence to work orders, standard work, and safety.

  
  


• 
  

  Cleans spraying equipment and tools with approved solvents.

  
  


• 
  

  Enters, transcribes, store or maintain information in writing as a mean of horizontal and vertical communication.

  
  


• 
  

  Performs 5S activities according to corresponding level.

  
  


• 
  

  Ensures the safe and proper operation of tools and equipment.

  
  


• 
  

  Ensures that policies and safety procedures are followed.

  
  


• 
  

  Fill out daily log for usage of chemical materials.

  
  


• 
  

  Evaluates experimental procedures and recommends changes or modifications to improve efficiency and best practices.

  
  


• 
  

  Participates in continuous improvement activities sponsored by the company.

  
  


• 
  

  Conduct an assertive communication between the different areas involved in the production process.

  
  

Knowledge, Skill and Experience:

• 1-3 years of experience in production at same or similar position


• Knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, and application techniques common to the painting process. 


• Ability to print and speak simple words in English.


• Basic math skills


• MUST passed respiratory protection program 

Physical Requirements: 

Constant standing (8-9 hours daily), bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting a minimum of 25 pounds.
