Job Description - NDT Level 1 RT Technician - 1st Shift

Eaton\u2019s IS AER MSD division is currently seeking a NDT Level 1 RT Technician - 1st Shift. \n\nThe hours for this role are 7am-3:30pm\n\nThe hourly rate for this position is $27-$31 per hour.\n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nThe NDT Level 1 RT (radiographic testing) Technician is responsible for performing nondestructive testing (NDT) utilizing digital radiography and CT (Computed Tomography) scanning technologies. This position requires to obtain and maintain NDT Level 1 \u0026 2 RT Digital Radiography certification. Inspections will be performed with oversight until certification is obtained. This position will also support the Inspection (receiving and final) department as needed. \n \nIn this function you will: \n\u2022 This position requires to obtain and maintain NDT Level 1 \u0026 2 RT for digital radiography. \n\u2022 Follow work instructions to process parts, document results, and perform equipment standardization in accordance with approved work instructions. \n\u2022 Conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard. \n\u2022 Conduct the necessary preparation of parts before or after NDT in accordance with approved work instructions. \n\u2022 Perform conventional and automated NDT (nondestructive testing) Level 1 Inspection of welds, forgings, castings, machined surfaces or other fabricated parts and assemblies in accordance with company procedures, customer codes, standards and other contractual documents to verify product conformance. \n\u2022 Maintains complete and accurate records of inspection activities. \n\u2022 Receive guidance from a certified Level 2 or Level 3 in the method being performed when necessary. \n\u2022 Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections on parts and products, including but not limited to mechanical and visual inspections. \n\u2022 Work to approved inspection checklists, engineering drawings, purchase orders, work instructions and specifications. \n\u2022 Utilize Non-Conforming Material Control process to document parts that do not meet specifications.\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nRequired (Basic) Qualifications: \n\u2022 High School diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution. \n\u2022 Minimum of 3 years of experience with mechanical and visual inspection of parts and assemblies. \n\u2022 Minimum of 3 years of experience using business-class software in a professional employment setting. \n\u2022 Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc. \n\u2022 No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the Orchard Park facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. \n\u2022 This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. \u0027Green Card Holder\u0027), Political Asylee, or Refugee. \nPreferred Qualifications: \n\u2022 NAS 410 NDT Level 1 or 2 RT \u0026 PT Certifications \n\u2022 NAS 410 NDT Level 1 or 2 Digital Radiography (DDA \u2013 Digital Detector Array) Certification \n\u2022 ASQ Mechanical Inspector Certification. \n\u2022 Previous experience with Basic Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD\u0026T) \n\u2022 Working knowledge of First Article Inspection (FAI) AS9102 \n\u2022 Working knowledge of AS9100 \n\n## Position Criteria:\n\n\u2022 Demonstrates clear and professional verbal and written communication \n\u2022 Demonstrates problem solving skills \n\u2022 Collaborates effectively to achieve shared goals \n\u2022 Must have 20/20 vision corrected or uncorrected in at least one eye and average to normal color vision (4 to 6 responses Titmus, B\u0026L or AO Testing machines or equivalent). \n \n#IND123 \n#IND456 \n#LI-SD1\n\nWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
