Position Summary:

The NDT Level II – X-Ray Technician performs radiographic inspections on aerospace components using film or digital radiography techniques. The role requires technical expertise in evaluating welds, castings, and other structural features for discontinuities in accordance with industry standards and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review routers, procedures, drawings, and specifications to determine inspection requirements.
• Set up, calibrate, and operate X-Ray equipment to perform radiographic inspections.
• Process parts in accordance with written instructions and evaluate images for compliance with applicable standards.
• Interpret radiographs (film and/or digital) to detect and document discontinuities such as cracks, porosity, lack of fusion, and inclusions.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, including logs, technique sheets, and results reports.
• Ensure radiation safety procedures are followed at all times and perform radiation area monitoring as required.
• Perform and document process control checks to maintain inspection quality and equipment integrity.
• Assist Level III personnel in developing and qualifying new techniques as needed.
• Train and support Level I inspectors and trainees through on-the-job training (OJT).

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certification to NAS-410 or equivalent in Radiographic Testing Level II (film and/or digital).
• Completion of required classroom training (minimum 80–120 hours depending on RT method).
• Minimum 800–1000 hours of RT experience.
• Radiation safety training and understanding of applicable safety regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Proficient in the use of radiation survey meters, densitometers, and other related equipment.
• Successful completion of vision testing per NDT standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Aerospace experience. 
• Dual certification in both film and digital RT methods.
• Experience interpreting flaws in welds, castings, machined parts, or formed      components.
• Familiarity with AS9100 and NADCAP.
• Previous work in a NADCAP-accredited or FAA repair station environment.
