Job Summary:
The NDT Level III – X-Ray Technician role is responsible for leading and continuously improving the non-destructive testing program at MPP in alignment with AS9100, NADCAP, and customer-specific requirements. This position plays a key role in ensuring the site's compliance with industry standards and regulatory guidelines, with primary focus on Radiographic Testing (X-Ray). The Level III will develop and execute NDT strategies, train and certify NDT personnel, and serve as a technical authority for radiographic inspection methods.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain NDT Level III certification in Radiographic Testing (RT) per NAS-410 and/or ASNT SNT-TC-1A
Provide leadership in the implementation and continual improvement of X-Ray testing procedures, techniques, and equipment
Develop and approve procedures, work instructions, and specific test techniques for X-Ray inspection
Provide technical oversight and guidance to Level I and Level II personnel, including OJT and classroom training
Certify and evaluate trainee progress; manage NDT personnel qualification programs
Interpret, evaluate, and report radiographic test results in compliance with customer, industry, and internal standards
Set up, calibrate, operate, and maintain X-Ray equipment, ensuring all process control checks are conducted as required
Maintain all required documentation, including logs, test records, and reports, ensuring audit readiness at all times
Coordinate audit preparedness and support NADCAP, AS9100, and customer audits as applicable
Review manufacturing routers, engineering drawings, specifications, and procedures to support NDT operations
Achieve MPP internal certifying agent status and obtain additional customer approvals as needed
May serve as the designated Responsible Level III per NAS-410
Evaluate and approve new technologies and tools related to Radiographic Testing
Ensure safety practices are strictly followed, especially related to radiation exposure and PPE use
Perform job duties in a safe, quality-focused manner, including visual and physical inspection of parts such as welds, brazes, castings, and formed components
Schedule Options:
1st Shift: 6am-4:30pm, Monday-Thursday
Requirements
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or equivalent experience (per NAS-410)
Documented experience and training as a Level III in Radiographic Testing per NAS-410
Previous or current Level III RT certification required; additional NAS-410 or ASNT-sanctioned certifications a plus
Strong knowledge of aerospace specs, industry codes, and quality standards (e.g., AS9100, NADCAP)
Experience interpreting and evaluating flaws in castings, welds, machined parts, brazes, and formed tubing
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and procedural documentation
Able to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
Strong record of safety, attendance, and punctuality
Flexible, dependable, and able to adjust to changing priorities
Produces accurate, high-quality work and completes documentation correctly
Willingness to train across multiple NDT methods
Team-oriented with the ability to work collaboratively and independently
Demonstrates sound judgment and decision-making using available data and experience
Positive history of feedback exchange and continuous improvement mindset
Employment Eligibility:
