     JOB TITLE: Needle Board Setter PLANT: Fort Wayne, Operations PRIMARY RESPONSBILITY: Follow all loom needle board procedures and work instructions, achieve optimal productivity, quality, and safety assuring internal and external customer satisfaction. Ensure all duties and activities associated with needle board preparation are completed in accordance with the product and process specifications. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Follow all Safety Guidelines & Procedures (i.e. LOTO, Guarding). • Use gloves designed for handling sharps. • Assist Fiber Line Operators with the removal and loading of needle boards at the loom. • Remove and replace needles safely with efficiency and according to SOP. • Train new employees and temporary staff • Examine and inspect needle board to meet or exceed all quality standards. • Record and document information on specified forms and/or the computer system. • Ensure all PM programs are carried out timely and correctly. • Actively participate in 6S Process and maintain housekeeping during the shift. • Assure all waste is disposed of in its assigned area. • Identify mechanical problems and notify Maintenance Department and assist with mechanical repairs. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Nonwovens experience is a plus but not required. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Perform basic math skills. Ability to add/subtract/multiply/divide. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to touch, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit and talk or hear. The employee must be able to lift 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to work 12 hour shifts every other weekend with when business demands warrant a 24-7 continuous operation. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Tasks are usually performed indoors in a manufacturing environment. Occasional mandatory overtime which may include Saturdays/Sundays.
