Job Description - Neonatal -Perinatal Medicine physician

• Physicians in Practice: 4 Neonatologists; 3 Pediatric Intensivists & 20 Pediatricians

• Support Staff: 2 APPs

- NP onsite (day) & NP on -call (night)

• Duties:

- Rounding, creating plan of care through epic, attending high -risk deliveries, performing procedures & completing perinatal consults.

• Required Procedures:

- Ventilation mgmt, Chest tube insertion, exchange transfusions, eval. & mgmt. of acute volume/BP issues, Lumbar puncture, Paracentesis & Thoracentesis.

• Required to Supervise APPs: Yes; 2 NNPs on daily, 1 field calls overnight

• No. of Beds: 214

• Beds in Dept: 52

• NICU Level: IV

• Trauma Level: II

• EMR: Epic

• Other Info:

- Can stay in the onsite call room.

- CV surgery cases are referred out for intervention.

• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes

• Travel, lodging and malpractice insurance covered

Requirements:

• Active TX License

• BC

• DEA

• NRP

• At least 5 yrs of experience (preferred)
