Title.NET Software Development Manager 135-160K DOE --  Permanent Hire (NYC)

Location: Multiple Cities / NYC, NY (Vicinity of the Empire State Building)

Industry: Utility/Electric

Work Authorization: USC/GC Only 

Work Arrangement: FTE On-Site in NY, NY -- W-2, Relocation open

Compensation: Generous / highly competitive compensation (135-160K DOE), benefits, 3 weeks PTO to start, and comprehensive training is offered for the right candidate.





Summary



Have you previously facilitated a successful turn-around of a .NET shop? Do you have the confidence that you can take the reigns and increase the engineering maturity level of a team? AHS has an excellent full-time software development manager opportunity in an established company. In this role you will transition a small VB.NET team and take an established software product to the next level. You will provide management insight into the development
of the central web-based IT systems used to support day to day business
operations, and provide our client's customers with business intelligence.  


This is a hands-on position in a small team environment (50% coding/architecture & 50% management). In this role you will mentor & manage the development staff to support the IT need of the entire
organization as well as an active development role in both major decision
making and active coding.   This position
requires interfacing with both senior management and various in house
functional groups. The candidate is expected to contribute to and influence
management thinking about the solution and make optimal trade off decisions
between time, cost, and effectiveness of various technical solutions. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated progressive career advancement in their career, and have worn all hats in a professional enterprise software environment (PM, dev, test, architecture, DEVOPS, etc.)





Responsibilities



  •         Provide complete IT architecture and software development
    assessment, including but not limited to infrastructure, proprietary as well as
    third party software and existing resources
  •         Understand the business need of the organization and develop
    the appropriate supporting IT infrastructure and solutions
  •         Review and examine overall company goals and ensure that IT objectives
    are aligned accordingly.
  •         Interview senior staff and IT resources as well as other team
    members to determine business issues, objectives, and perspectives
  •         Provide findings and recommendations on existing environment
    and provide detailed feedback on system’s configurations, business
    applications, policies and procedures
  •         Provide the technical leadership and solutions vision for the
    organization, and play a  hands on role
    in their implementation
  •         Be comfortable in directing staff in the solution development
    and to participate in a hands on fashion when needed
  •         Gather and manage user feedback for iterative solution and
    system improvement
  •         Anticipate need and build the appropriate IT team for the
    organization
  •         Mentor and develop staff





















Requirements




  • 8+ years of experience in managing an IT
    development team in a .NET environment

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent industry exp.

  • Strong ability to translate a business need
    into an executable development road map

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Experience in using Agile development
    methodology

  • Experienced with ASP.NET Web applications
    development

  • Skilled in VB.NET, HTML/HTML5, CSS3,
    JavaScript, jQuery libraries, AJAX, T-SQL, MS SQL Server, database
    optimization techniques

  • Some experience with c#,  vb,  .NET
     required - legacy skills in VB6 is nice-to-have

  • Deep understanding of advanced optimized SQL
    programming 

  • Deep understating and utilization of Version
    Control

  • Deep understanding of SDLC

  • Significant Cloud Infrastructure
    Experience 

  • Software architecture

  • API engineering & RESTful Web Services

  • DBA skills a plus  ( preferably MySQL)

  • Big Data Experience a plus

  • WebForms experience a big plus

  • Familiarity with Bootstrap framework

  • Excellent one-on-one communication, able to
    convey technical information in a clear and unambiguous manner

  • Domain experience in energy utility a plus
