immediate contract position opening (contract term initially 6 months, with possible extension) for a Network Monitoring Administrator resource with our public sector industry client located in Austin, TX. *This is a hybrid role, in which this resource will work onsite TWO days per week. Work hours are M-F, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Additional work hours may be required, at times, to support 24-hour operations, including evenings, weekends, holidays, inclement weather, and emergency closures.
Role: Network Monitoring Administrator
Role Description:
The Network Monitoring Administrator resource will provide support for all sites supported by the Network LAN and Telecom team. The client seeks a driven, results-oriented individual to support the network team. This individual's primary responsibilities will be supporting the building, moving to production of the ScienceLogic technology, and providing ongoing support and maintenance of the network components supported by that implementation.
Key Activities/Responsibilities:
- Support the building and configuration of the ScienceLogic infrastructure.
- Create, test, and move to production the alerting capabilities for the supported network devices.
- Monitoring and identification of network events that require mitigation.
- Troubleshooting and resolution of escalated network events.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in configuring, implementing, and managing ScienceLogic and/or IT Enterprise Monitoring Systems
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver network solutions.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in configuring, implementing, and managing network devices.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in monitoring and troubleshooting complex network switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in operating, managing, and supporting routing protocols, specifically BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and VXLAN.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in operating, managing, and supporting next-generation firewalls.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in operating, managing, and supporting wireless networks.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in operating, managing, and supporting DNS.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in operating, managing, and supporting software-defined networks.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in operating, managing, and supporting network access controls.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years of experience complying with regulatory controls.
- ScienceLogic Professional Certification
- ScienceLogic Expert Certification
