Job Description - Network Administrator
Harbor is looking for a Network Administrator who performs the engineering, configuration, installation, optimization, maintenance, and upgrade of networks, including routers, switches, access points, firewalls, and network management systems to achieve high performance and high availability of the various business applications supported. Provide technical support to various departments and users with regards to LAN/MAN/WAN (local/metropolitan/wide area networks). Serve as a liaison with vendors and other third-party providers.

Education/Experience/Other Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, or a combination of experience and networking certifications.
Must have experience with Cisco switch and router programming. Certifications preferred
Must have experience with firewall, Cloud Security and IDP administration. Cisco, Sophos, and Azure experience preferred.
Experience with the following preferred: telecommunications, wide area networking, cabling.
Must be a team player, learn protocols quickly, follow directions and maintain confidentiality.
Must have strong attention to detail, think logically, be able to troubleshoot problems/questions that users present, and be able to communicate (verbal and written) effectively with a variety of individuals.
Must be patient, conscientious, self-motivated, independent, and productive with strong customer service skills.
Must be able to transport self to other Harbor locations.
Must have a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and show proof of personal auto insurance policy to be deemed insurable with Harbor’s vehicle insurance carrier.
Essential Job Competencies/Primary Duties:
Responsible for the installation and maintenance of Harbor’s network hardware and related software. Manages all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, access points, traffic shaping devices, etc.
Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access. Maintains firewall, wireless, and remote access systems, including cloud applications.
Documents network configurations. Maintains an inventory of all networking devices (routers, switches, etc.) for all locations of Harbor. Assists with site design at all office locations, as necessary.
Monitors and tests network performance and provides performance statistics and reports. Troubleshoots network problems and outages. Recommends network environment modifications to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance.
Receives and responds to incoming calls (office or cell), voicemails, e-mails, and direct staff requests in a friendly and timely manner. Ensures follow-through solutions/responses that address staff concerns promptly and accurately.
Confers with outsourced consultants when necessary. Interacts with vendors and outsourcers to obtain estimates, products, and services as necessary and recommends such products and services.
Researches and evaluates emerging products, services and technologies that may be beneficial to Harbor and makes recommendations.
Provides consultation to the Systems Administrator on network concerns and VOIP issues/Maintenance.
Participates as an active member of the IT
Keeps current with trends and developments related to essential job competencies and demonstrates continued growth.
