Network Boundary Engineer

• Design, implement, and maintain network perimeter infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other network devices

• Configure and troubleshoot network routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
• Plan, configure, and maintain firewall infrastructure
• Monitor network performance and identify areas for improvement at the network edge
• Troubleshoot network issues and provide timely resolution related to perimeter devices
• Implement and maintain network security policies and procedures
• Manage and maintain PKI infrastructure
• Ensure network compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Collaborate with other IT teams to support business applications and services
• Document network configurations and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Education/Training: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant engineering or science discipline preferred
• Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, etc. required

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in enterprise routing and switching
• 3+ years of experience in firewall planning, configuration, and maintenance
• Working experience with and understanding of the OSI model and IP protocol stack
• Experience working with network switching and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) as they pertain to F5, Cisco, Citrix, and Firepower
• Experience with F5 load balancer
• Experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls preferred
• Strong understanding of PKI infrastructure preferred
• Strong understanding of security, audit, and compliance principles preferred
• Strong understanding of Domain Name System (DNS) preferred
• Strong understanding of web applications and traffic patterns preferred

Security:

• Must be a US citizen

• Candidate must be in possession of a minimum DoD issued Secret Clearance

Physical Requirements:

• Able to occasionally reach with hands and arms
• Prolonged periods of computer screen use, while sitting or standing at a desk
• Adhere to safety protocols when in work areas requiring use of PPE (e.g. eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, steel toed shoes, etc.)
• Able to safely lift and carry up to 20 pounds at a time

Salary: $100,000 - $130,000
