Network Engineer (Customer Success) - US

About the Role

As a Network Engineer (Customer Success) for Opplane VLMA, you will work with enterprise clients and telecom operators managing Mobile Private Networks (MPN). You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving network connectivity issues, validating networking solutions, and ensuring customer traffic flows reliably through our virtual anchors. You will also support customers throughout troubleshooting, deployment, and incident resolution.

This role is ideal for network engineers with solid Linux fundamentals and hands-on experience configuring hardware through a Command Line Interface (CLI).

Requirements

Networking Fundamentals & CLI Experience

• CLI Proficiency – Proven hands-on experience using Cisco IOS or Juniper Junos Command Line Interface (CLI) to configure interfaces, verify routing tables, and troubleshoot network connectivity.

• Routing & Switching – Solid understanding of core networking concepts including:

  • IPv4/IPv6 addressing
  • Subnetting
  • VLANs
  • Static Routing
  • Basic Dynamic Routing Protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP)

• Tunnelling Technologies – Familiarity with tunnelling concepts such as GRE and VPN technologies.

Linux System Administration

• Comfortable working within Linux/Unix environments using the command line.

• Ability to navigate directories, manage files, review system logs, and verify running services.

• Experience using Linux networking tools such as:

  • Ping
  • Traceroute
  • Ip / ifconfig
  • Netstat

Troubleshooting & Infrastructure

• Packet Analysis – Familiarity with packet capture tools such as Wireshark or tcpdump.
• Infrastructure Awareness – Understanding of virtualized network environments (VMs) and how routers or gateways connect to a central core network.

Key Responsibilities

• Network Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues across enterprise and telecom environments, ensuring reliable operation of the Opplane VLMA platform.
• Network Analysis: Analyse routing behaviour, packet captures, Linux system logs, and application logs to identify the root cause of network and connectivity issues.
• Solution Validation: Test and validate proposed solutions in the Solution Lab before deployment to customer environments.
• Deployment Support: Assist with the deployment, configuration, and optimisation of networking solutions within customer environments.
• Customer Support: Provide technical support to enterprise customers and telecom operators by guiding troubleshooting activities, communicating technical findings, and helping resolve technical issues through ticketing systems, email, and live support sessions.
• Incident Management: Perform incident triage, prioritise technical issues, and coordinate resolution with internal engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 3 yearsof experience as a Network Engineer.
• Education : Associate’s degree in Networking, Information Technology, or equivalent hands-on experience/certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNA, Juniper JNCIA, or CompTIA Linux+/Network+).
