Forge Forward is looking for a Network Engineer to support a client in the DC Metro Area at the Naval Observatory. This position will require on-site work 4 days a week. US citizenship is required as this position requires a security clearance. Position requires a minimum of 7 years' experience as a network engineer with a proven track record in performance optimization and troubleshooting of routing & switching devices in Windows/Linux environments.
Must possess the skills to quickly adapt to any environment during any point of the project lifecycle and be able to provide efficient response to task deadlines and timely resolution of system complications. Must have excellent organizational and analytical skills with in-depth of knowledge of network architecture. Have the ability to communicate technical knowledge and direction through briefs, requirements specifications, system design descriptions, test plans and reports, SOVTs, implementation plans and other documentation as well as participate in technical reviews of these deliverables. Possess the ability to troubleshoot fielded systems, test new systems/configurations in a lab environment, and actively participate in technical meetings. Have the ability to design and implement network platform solutions on an enterprise scale to include planning, designing, installation, configuration, and integration of systems and networks within an enterprise environment. Have the knowledge and ability to ensure systems are in compliance with DISA STIGs. Possess the ability to work well, integrate, coordinate, and knowledge share with the team as well as provide recommendations to facilitate enhancements of existing technology through the use of the Enterprise Change Request (ECR) process. Position will draw from experience in Systems Development Life-Cycle Management (i.e. plan, analyze, design, implement, and maintain). Candidate will have privileged access and must meet DoD Cybersecurity Workforce IAT Level II certification requirements.
Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years' prior experience as a Network Engineer.
-Bachelor’s degree in IT or related technical field.
-Legacy Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certifications AND/OR Microsoft Administrator or Solutions Architect Associate or Expert level.
-CompTIA Security+ CE certifications.
-US citizen with a minimum Secret clearance with current SSBI/T5 investigation required. TS/SCI clearance desired.
Functional Skills and Responsibilities:
-Ability to communicate technical knowledge and direction through briefs, requirements specifications, system design descriptions, test plans and reports, SOVTs, implementation plans and other documentation as well as participate in technical reviews of these deliverables.
-Knowledge and ability to ensure systems comply with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).
-Ability to integrate, coordinate, and knowledge share with the team.
-Experience with Exchange, Windows Server 2012R2 and higher, WSUS, Windows PowerScript, McAfee HBSS, Hyper-V, VMware, VB Scripting, Powershell, Enterprise PKI/DoD CAC deployments and Enterprise level Access.
Desired Skills:
Familiarity with Navy and Joint networking architectures.
