ummary of Objective:

Network Engineer I ensures the reliability of the local and wide area networks including all firewalls, routers, switches, wireless, VOIP and Video technologies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The essential duties and responsibilities include the following but other duties may be assigned.

Duties:

Support layer 2 LAN (Switch) technologies including network segmentation utilizing VLANS.

Ensure reliability for layer 3 (WAN) technologies by utilizing SDWAN, MPLS and Point to Point connections.

Troubleshoot issues with routing of OSPF, BGP and EIGRP routing protocols.

Support VPN client and site to site connections

Maintain firewalls, IDS/IPS and Cisco ISE

Proactive vulnerability management including routine patching and hardening of systems following cyber security guidelines.

Utilize monitoring tools including SolarWinds, Wireshark, Syslog and Firepower Management to proactively keep our networks reliable.

Support of wireless controllers and access points and connected technology.

Resolve issues with Voice (VoIP) and Video Technologies including MS Teams, 8x8 and Avaya.

Resolve issues with AWS and Azure networking.

Author, review and enforce documentation and SOPs.

Contribute to the design of a highly reliably/fault tolerant network.

Participate in vendor management.

Manage an accurate list of network assets.

Available for after-hours support when required.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in a related field and/or 1-5 years related experience and/or training as a Network Engineer

Understanding of TCP/IP

Knowledge of OSI model

DNS, DHCP, Routing protocols

Linux (preferred)

Technology Experience

:

Cisco Firewalls, Switches, Routers, Wireless Controllers and Access Points (PCI standard technologies)

Cisco NetScaler

SolarWinds

Aruba and Juniper Switches (Limited Support)

Preferred:

Ability to demonstrate attention to detail.

Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

Ability to travel.

Ability to exhibit sound and accurate judgment.

Industry Certifications Cisco including CCNA, CCNP

AWS Network Certifications
