Title: Network Engineer II
Department: Technology and Innovation
Status: Exempt, Full-Time
Reports To: Executive Director of Technology and Innovation
Starting Compensation Pay: $83,000/annually

PURPOSE: The Network Engineer II serves as the technical lead for Caritas Family Solutions' enterprise network infrastructure, supporting more than 500 users across 18 locations, including office and residential facilities. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and optimizing network architecture while providing technical leadership, infrastructure strategy, and advanced support for organizational systems and services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, implement, and optimize network architectures aligned with organizational strategy.
• Develop scripts and programs to support data and system integrations.
• Apply cybersecurity and information security best practices.
• Develop and execute infrastructure management and maintenance strategies.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and support to junior IT staff.
• Participate in IT strategic planning, budgeting, and technology initiatives.
• Monitor network and system performance, availability, and reliability.
• Maintain accurate documentation and inventory of technology infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and replace failed network and system components.
• Coordinate and execute maintenance activities using established change management procedures.
• Ensure compliance with IT service management (ITSM) and network security standards.
• Provide after-hours support as necessary.
• Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning efforts.
• Additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED/PREFERRED:

Degree/Field Required: Associate degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Degree/Field Preferred: Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.

Additional Fields of Knowledge Important for the Role:

• Computers and Electronics: Knowledge of hardware, software, processors, circuit boards, programming, and information systems.
• Engineering and Technology: Knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, procedures, and technologies related to infrastructure design and service delivery.
• Telecommunications: Knowledge of transmission, switching, broadcasting, control, and operation of telecommunications systems.
• Communications and Media: Knowledge of communication, media production, and information dissemination techniques through written, oral, and visual channels.

Experience Required: Five or more years of experience in computer systems, network administration, infrastructure management, or related IT functions.

Experience Preferred: Experience supporting multi-site enterprise environments and Microsoft-based infrastructure.

Licenses/Certifications Required: Network+

Licenses/Certifications Preferred: CCNA

Resource Management: Ability to effectively manage technology resources, equipment, materials, and personnel while supporting organizational goals and operational needs.

Technical: Advanced ability to install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, monitor, and optimize network and information systems. Skilled in technology design, systems evaluation, quality control, equipment selection, operations monitoring, and infrastructure maintenance.

Proficient Computer Skills In: Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, Word, Database Management Software, Social Media Platforms, Networking Hardware and Software.

Expert Computer Skills In: Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Database Management Software, Networking Hardware and Software.
