Network Engineer III

Description:

Collaborate with IT management and business leaders to assess near and long-term capacity planning.

Create technical documentation as it relates to network services.

Design and implement company wireless, local, and wide area networks.

Monitor network performance, identify problem areas and recommend improvements to IT Management.

Maintain network equipment by proactively applying firmware and software patches.

Negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services.

Perform network equipment and configuration audits, respond to internal ITGC audit requests.

Tier III escalation point for the Network and Operations teams.

Ability to present ideas to non-technical business stakeholders in user-friendly language.

Lead network project efforts as a principal resource or project manager as directed.

Other responsibilities and projects as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

4 to 7 years of computer network experience, with at least 3 years in an IT service delivery role.

Bachelors Degree in Information Systems, or business-related field, or equivalent work experience.

Expert knowledge in Cisco technologies, certifications preferred.

Expert knowledge in planning, designing, building, and implementing secure network design, including network operation and architecture best practices related to virtual, physical, and cloud networks.

Proven problem-solving abilities, hardware troubleshooting capabilities, and systems support experience.

Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Strong customer service orientation.

Self-motivated and directed with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively.

Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
