Position Summary: The Network Engineer will be responsible for managing and supporting a large geographically dispersed network for our high availability environment. The network infrastructure is crucial for our clinical laboratory business that operates 24X7X365 in multiple time-zones. Core Responsibilities: Provide daily support of the Local, Wireless, and Wide Area Network including switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers. Plan and perform firmware upgrades of Routers, Switches, Load Balancers, and Firewalls. Configuring and tuning monitoring systems for network devices. Creating and maintaining network diagrams Tracking support and maintenance contract renewals Participate in team troubleshooting including operations bridges, trouble tickets and RCA Process, monitor and prioritize trouble tickets Ability to follow IT policies and procedures Own problem remediation including analysis, recommendation, and implementation Document findings and update knowledge base Interact with other teams for a variety of company initiatives Perform creation and troubleshooting of site to site VPNs with external customers IT departments. Provide remote support to both internal/external clients as needed. Be an active member and Participate in the Change Control Process to ensure we are communicating and planning all production changes through the CCB. Contribute and be active participant in achieving - Departmental goals, SLA attainment, and Corporate TAT (Turn-around time). Be available to work evenings/weekends as an escalation point to the Engineering Team. Participate in on-call schedule as assigned. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in IT or 4+ years relevant IT experience 1+ years demonstrated experience supporting a large geographically dispersed IT infrastructure preferred. Industry recognized technical certification(s) preferred –Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) or Equivalent level industry recognized certification.
